Food & Drinks

Barley and Burger

Lou Redas: An American Table is ready to welcome you with every kind of comfort food you can think of and a bourbon bar. They have a range of burgers to try as well as a brunch menu that sounds scrumptious.

The burgers, sandwiches, and waffle fries at Barley and Burger off Zebulon Road are amazing! Enjoy a nice local craft beer with their movie themed entrees or starters.

HopFly Brewing Company off Falls Road has a beer for every season and occasion! They are continuously creating new flavors and their taps are always changing. Before you head home, make sure to grab a six-pack to-go and a koozie or shirt.

Shopping

Small Shops Mall

Small Shops Mall is the best place in Rocky Mount to find locally made items. They have everything from home décor, clothing, jewelry, and more. They are always looking for more local artists to add to their store.

Spend the day shopping at Golden East Crossing off North Wesleyan Boulevard. You can find everything from the big name brand stores to local shops for all of you buying needs.

Parks

Battle Park

The serene trails of Battle Park are perfect for taking in nature and relaxing. Follow the Tar River as you walk, bike, or run along the riverside. The park also offers a boat landing, three picnic shelters, and fishing piers. Don’t forget to take a walk across one of the largest wooden suspension bridges in the U.S., “rocky mounds.” Fun fact, Rocky Mount was named after the bridge.

City Lake, located off Sunset Avenue, was built as a Works Progress Administration project under President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1937. Joggers and Walkers love to exercise on the trail while being surrounded by native North Carolina species.
