The Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve is a 104 acre registered natural area and is run by both the state of North Carolina and the town of Cary. Fred G. Bond Metro Park is an expansive 310 acre park, one of the largest municipal parks in Wake County. With a large lake and canoe rentals, multiple walking trails, fields, and picnic areas, this is the perfect place to go escape the hustle and bustle of urban life.
The Cary Arts Center, located in downtown cary, is the perfect place to go to express your creativity! They have an art gallery available for public view, and offer open studio classes, and even have a theater with a variety of performances.
About 10 minutes away from the Cary Arts Center is the Koka Booth Amphitheater. Head to this beautiful outdoor space to see concerts, symphony performances, or movie screenings. They also host various events throughout the year like the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival. Odds are, you’ll be able to find something fun to do with friends or the whole family.
If you like wine, head over to Chatham Hill Winery, the first in the triangle area. It’s unique urban location makes for an interesting date night or day out with friends. They give tours of the winery, hold tastings, show local artwork, and have live music.
After you have some wine at Chatham Hill, you can head over to Wine and Design, a local studio that offers paint and wine parties. If you like to golf, there are plenty of options to choose from, including Lochmere Golf Club. Because it is a semi-private club, you don’t have to be a member to use their facilities. Equipped with an 18-hole golf course, a practice area, and a grille on site, there’s plenty of activities to choose from.
Cary has a wide selection of both public and private schools to consider. Cary Academy and Cary Christian School, the third largest Christian school in the country, are both notable for their academics and overall satisfaction. Many of Cary’s public schools are great as well, including Davis Drive Elementary, Green Hope Elementary and High School, and Panther Creek High School.
